This session will include a presentation of the various insurance options available to cover work-related accidents of a motor carrier’s independent contract drivers. The coverages to be discussed will be workers compensation, occupational accident with contingent liability, and the various insurance schemes that are being offered in today’s market. 

We will discuss how each protects the motor carrier as well as the potential pit falls of each. We will also discuss how to identify a scheme and the disastrous effects on the motor carrier and their independent contractor drivers.  This session will incorporate a discussion around the passage of AB5 and the Dynamex decision in California and how the “ABC” test is going to affect independent contractor relations in other states.
